Here at Gather Co we want to ensure that the gap between your screen and our surfaces is bridged. As such, we have developed this Texture Guide to provide a general understanding of the finishes across our collection and to offer a sense of the ‘feel’ you can expect from each variety.
*Please note: This is intended as a guide only. Some surfaces may sit outside the prescribed finish as stated below. It is not a Slip Rating, you’ll find that in the “Resources and Installation” section at the bottom of each product page.
Unlike Australian sandstone, long used for its lighter aesthetics, this foreign stone carries a rich, exotic blue that provides a unique point of difference from the Australian market.
Alvarez Fengdu is a durable sandstone whose beauty appreciates over time. Adding an undeniable touch of class, it is excellent in dispersing surface water, making it ideal for use across outdoor entertainment areas as pavers or tiles.
• Dark blue in colour – a rarely seen and recent addition to the Australian market
• Outstanding slip resistance but not suited for use around pools
• Less heat absorption than other darker stones
• Easy to work with due to its softer composition
Fengdu is a county within the Chongqing Province. This region plays host to one of Chinas UNESCO World Heritage Sites: The Wulong Karst geological park.

Fengdu - Located on Ming Mountain, this sprawling complex of shrines, temples and monasteries was thought to aid in the transition to the afterlife, gaining the apt name of ‘Ghost City’. More than a spiritual site, Ming Mountain and the surrounding 21st century quarries link Chinese mythology to modernity.
Sandstone - A sedimentary rock, sandstone is comprised of sand-sized mineral particles or rock fragments. Pure sandstone can come in various colours due to the impurities found in its minerals and commonly used for both foundations and architectural finishes.
